Miranda

Physiotherapist
Qualifications: Doctor of Physiotherapy, Macquarie University, Australia, 2019

Miranda is our newest Physiotherapist to the team here at the Musculoskeletal Institute. We are very lucky and excited to have Miranda on board.

Miranda graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy in June 2019 from Macquarie University and also has her Bachelor of Exercise Science (Rehabilitation) from Charles Sturt University in 2015.

From a young age she has wanted to help as many people as possible, and believes physiotherapy is her way of achieving this. She enjoys working with the older population and people with neurological conditions. Miranda spent her childhood in a small country town where she pursued dance, the circus arts and music.

What are your qualifications (e.g. masters of physio, Pilates instructor, bariatrics etc )

I have a Bachelor of Exercise Science majoring in Rehabilitation and a Doctor of Physiotherapy

How long you have been practicing?

I have been practicing as a qualified Physiotherapist since 2019.

Tell me about your work history

Whilst studying to be a physio, I worked as a receptionist at a private physio practice in Revesby. Due to my previous degree, I was able to work alongside experienced physiotherapists and progressed my skills early.

I have been working at HPH since graduating as a physiotherapist.

What are your areas of special interests?

Whilst working at Hurstville Private Hospital and MIH I have developed an interest in 2 major areas: geriatrics and the fracture clinic. Due to my upbringing, I have always had the ability to connect and communicate with the older generation.

The fracture clinic, paediatrics fractures in particular, has become a recent interest since joining the team at MIH. Working with children, although challenging at times, can be extremely rewarding.

These are both areas of the community that are very vulnerable and require endless patience. I enjoy the challenge of working at both ends of the life cycle.

What do you feel is the difference between MIH to other facilities?

MIH is unique due to the onsite fracture clinic. We are able to see a patient, complete the required imaging, consult with a specialist and have outcome for the patient all in one visit.

We also have the ability to work closely with the specialist doctors that both consult in our suites as well as those that refer to us.
